This place is great! All wood fired cooking. The service is great, beer is brewed on location and most importantly the food is fantastic! We had the wood oven pizza.

The pizza is to die for---I could eat a whole one without feeling bad afterward. All of the ingredients they use are farm fresh, organic, home grown, or purchased locally. Nothing is ever frozen. Plus, their cornbread is AMAZING. Different options are availiable weekly, so it is always refreshing.

Checked this out after learning about it on Yelp, as well as hearing from friends, and it's certainly a unique experience. I got the Maple Grille burger, which was really good; nicely seasoned with a good taste from the condiments added. I was less than enthusiastic about the potato salad that came with it, but that's a personal preference, and the grilled beets were great. I plan on trying the pizza next time we stop in here. Since the menu changes daily, I wish I had checked their Facebook page before visiting. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for a farm-to-table restaurant.

Excellent food, would definitely recommend to family and friends! If going make sure you get there before 6, they tend to run out of popular items early.

The Maple Grille is possibly the best restaurant I've ever been to. The food was amazing. You could tell the chef really put his heart into it. Everyone at our table ordered something different, and it was all fantastic. They brew their own beer; that was great too. The ambiance of the restaurant was really cool - relaxed, but beautiful. The only downside was that I ate so much for dinner I couldn't finish my desert.

Cleanliness...5 Food...5 Service...4 Price...5 Atmosphere...4 Food is amazing and always fresh...It sucks they do not have booze and you have to grab your beverage out of a cooler...I head chef is VERY arrogant and should not interact with customers and the stools are the most uncomfortable thing I have ever sat in...Other then that I would recommend this place to everyone because it truly is AMAZING food.

The food here is delicious and I like that they buy from local farms. The price are reasonable too.

I love the The Maple Grille. Their farm to table philosophy makes all the food fresh and tasty. The menu changes daily so there is always something new to try. Local beef is usually featured, and they always have delicious seasonal vegetables. Also now serving, beer! This is quite the gem for a small town area, don't tell too many people a about it because I like to keep it my own little secret. :)

After waiting a year to try The Maple Grill, I was not disappointed. And as a fellow NMU alumni great job!! Went in today with the family and had a great lunch. I had the pork chops and they were great!! As was my hubby's BBQ pork sandwich. The portions were huge! My son had the cheese pizza which was also very good. Finished off with strawberry shortcake, which was also very good except the shortcake was a little dry. Only 1 thing I would change: a better kids menu (more choices).

From the moment I walked in the front door, I could smell this place was magical. The smell of BBQ smoke aroma smack you in the face. The atmosphere said B-B-Q everywhere. It had a rustic backyard home feel and it was time to relax and enjoy some good food. The food was exquisitely BBQ. I had the BBQ beef sandwich. It was everything I expected and then some. The Maple Grill BBQ sauce is unique and had a nice accent of tartness. The amount of meat in the sandwich was overwhelming and stacked a couple of inches thick. This is meat country. The bun was special and appeared to be homemade. It may have been made with a bit of corn meal added. Nice touch. The side dish was a tasty surprise. Normally fries are served with a sandwich. The Maple Grill served a grilled combination of potatoes and squash. It was cooked perfectly with the crusty edges and the right amount of caramelization. The bad news was there was only a couple of tablespoons of the potato squash side dish. I was left wanting. I even looks at the other customer's plates as I was leaving. While the food was outstanding, the drinks were lacking. No water was served with lunch and we had to buy a bottle of water from the cooler. When at a BBQ, it is always nice to have a beer with dinner. Apparently there is no liquor license. In summary, the food and atmosphere are better than expected but the Maple Grill does not deliver the full backyard BBQ experience.

Best food in the Great Lakes Bay region! Unique, fresh, local food. Couldn't recommend it enough! Great place to go with kids too.

OMG, are these people eating at the same place? Or are they just friends of his? This guy should have stuck to building overpriced barns. Now he sells overpriced burned, dry food. And BTW dude, your BBQ sauce is AWFUL. It tastes like a can of tomato sauce with something sweet added to it. Stay away from this place. My neice had this guy cater her wedding, what a freaking disaster. I saw an awful lot of plates of meat uneaten. I kid you not, the chicken was burned on the outside, and GREY on the inside. The beef had so much fat and gristle, it was practically inedible.

The waitstaff was kind and very helpful. The ordering technique was new to me. This was my first smoke house experience. I ordered the Chicken Alfredo Flat Bread Brick Oven Pizza. It was ok kind of on the strong side like Buffalo Wild Wings. I liked all of the sides, especially the apple sauce. The chicken portions that others at my table had were quite large, but everyone seemed to really enjoy their meal. We had a party of ten and the restaurant was more than accommodating. they said this is their first time being open during the winter months. I would say it is a success, and my wife is begging to go back. The fresh ingredients is a plus.

After today's visit I have to bump these guys up to a 5. The new indoor area is great. Still not a ton of seating but a lot more then they used to have. There's a large indoor grill and the pizza oven grill thing. I went for the pizza today. Bacon asparagus. It was one of the best foods I have ever eaten. Of course I ate the entire thing. They aren't huge but it's a lot more then a person should eat in one sitting. Plus I had potato salad and asparagus sides and a piece of corn bread. I wish both I and my office hadn't moved to the opposite side of Saginaw so I could get there more often. They try to have some items under $10 and there are some up to $20. Check them out on facebook or their website for the days menu. -A quick update to let you know they do take credit cards now. I noticed I had said they don't, because they didn't used to, but now they do.

They were serving tenderloins the night we were there. They were the best I've ever had. This place is not pretentious. It is a pole barn. But you don't care about that once you've tasted their food. The Crème Brulee was wonderful as well. The menu changes pretty much daily since they serve what is fresh at that time. Their potato salad reminded me of Moms. Great asparagus cooked perfectly.

Absolutely the best food I've had in awhile. Fresh, cooked to perfection and tasty. You know you're in for something special as soon as your nose makes it through the door.

Farm to table dining to an extent rarely seen. Everything is fresh and locally sourced. They need maple syrup, they find a maple tree. They need eggs, they buy a chicken. They recently expanded their indoor dining area and added an indoor kitchen & wood fired pizza oven! Family owned & operated. Menu changes daily. The antithesis of Chili's & TGI Fridays. Highly, highly recommended!

Get to the Grill EARLY!! This is one of the very few restaurants in the area that buys local seasonal ingredients and can run out of food. The menu changes everyday, like them on Facebook to see a pic of the blackboard menu. The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is friendly and unhurried (although the line of folks waiting to eat can make you feel a bit guilty if you sit there for a bit when you are done eating!) Can not wait until next week when they have finished the corning process on the beef and Ruebens will be available again! I will be running to get one!

Restaurant has an outside kitchen with wood fire grille, where my food was cooked. Simple menu, very good meat. I had the pork belly confit, the meat was very tender, fresh, and it went well with my potatoe salad and watermelon. Very nice outdoor lunch place, reasonably priced. I enjoyed my lunch surrounded by the grille, watching the chef cooked,, and the garden. It also has indoor seating but I haven't checked that out.
